I've not used it, but I believe ProSEL 16 has a backup utility that
would backup hard disks to floppies. Seeing as ProSEL was quite a
popular utility, its possible the images were created with it?

I used to use ProSEL 16, and seem to recall that the code "BU.01" was applied to the disks. 

Worth a try.
