There are also Vulcan hard disks. I rather like them. Besides the cool name,
they include a beefed up powersupply, mount the hard disk internally, and
include a fan. They are less flexible than SCSI, where you have more options
on disk size and the ablility to use other SCSI devices, but if you just
want a hard disk they are great. I have to put away my toys after I play
with 'em, so not having to deal with external hard disks and cables is an
advantage to me.

There's a wait list? Is it just for the hard disk part, or the whole thing?
You could probably find a used laptop drive if they still sell the bare
board. Just check and make sure you get one that is compatible...
