Probably because ProTERM was the best A2 telecommunications
software ever developed.
Probably because even though ProTERM never went past version 3.1,
Greg still recognized that faster modems were showing up and
registered users of his package asked for `drivers' for these
faster specific modems, or had problems and he provided fixes in
these old and new drivers.
These seem to be good enough reasons for many (nay, most) A2
users. Possibly; though you apparently cannot see any valid
reasons for doing something for the P8 A2 users out there;
you may now see that there _are_ reasons to do so.
Hope this answers your question to your satisfaction . . .
