Your battery is probably dead and will need to be replaced. (The IIgs
battery is a non-rechargable 3.6V lithium battery rated at 1.2 AH.) It is on
the left side under the power supply.
To remove the power supply, unplug the power cord. Then, mark one end of
the PS cable going to the motherboard and the motherboard and unplug the
cable. You will be able to push the PS a bit toward the back and lift it out.
If your GS is a ROM 3, the battery will be in a holder. Otherwise, the
battery will probably have wire leads connected to the motherboard.
