Right. ADTgs is mainly intended as a from-scratch way to transfer enough
stuff so that you can do regular file transfers. For instance, once you have
transferred disk images with Zlink or Modem MGR, you can transfer any kind of
file (including disk image files) to/from your IIgs; and, speed will be better
than the 9600 baud which seems to be the limit for ADTgs.

The glitch is probably your 19200 baud rate setting. I've tried several
times and never gotten ADTgs to work at 19200 baud. (ADTgs uses an in-ROM
software interface which is not especially speedy.) The program works fine at
9600 baud.

As far as I know, there is not a bug in the current version-- beta v .91.

ADTgs is a relatively quick hack of Paul Guertin's ADT (for 8-bit II's
with SSC) which swaps in CALLs to something called the "Pascal 1.1 firmware
protocol" (still supported in IIgs ROM) for dealing with serial I/O. Since the
'Send' side kept messing up, I decided to scrap the feature until a future
revision and release a version (beta v .90) which would, at least, handle
'Receive'.

The beta v .91 release is easier to use-- e.g. you can set the baud rate
in the program instead of having to mess with the IIgs Control Panel; but, the
'Send' option is still not included.

It's on a few pieces of paper in a folder. ADTgs was written in machine
code.

Yes; that is what you would need to do for an SSC in Slot 1. ADTgs is
intended to work with the IIgs serial port associated with Slot 2.
