An excellent point, and one that is difficult to argue with. Particularly so
since I am one of those people who jack up the font size to make reading more
comfortable (but use higher resolutions to prevent graphical elements from
dominating the screen.
Still, I was supporting some Win95 boxes several years ago. Essentially, these
were machines were emulating 3270's and were displaying a quantity of customer
information which we are all quite familiar with (about 80x25). Now most of
the people who worked on these systems kept the window maximized, presumably
because it was the most comfortable way to deal with the computers all day.
But very little software seemed to be used otherwise: to handle both customer
relations and sales, and 80x25 portal to the company databases worked fine, and
I have noticed that at a number of other places.
