I had that recently on a friends computer when I was trying to restore
some data for them. I just ignored the error and was still able to
copy stuff across. I have also used Phone Disk (same people, but
mounts it as a disk. Free for 100mb transfer, about $20 to unlock it
completely iirc).

Have you jailbroken your phone?
