It sounds like the printer "language" was accidentally changed from
Postscript mode to "HP PCL 4" emulation mode. Is it possible that the switch
on the printer (which sets the mode) was inadvertently changed? It is also
possible to switch modes by sending Postscript commands to the printer, but
this is unlikely to have been done accidentally.
