Okay, this project is not totally dead. It has
been more than six months that it has been worked
on, but it is not dead yet. I have waiting to
work on it more pending the purchase of a logic
analyzer and that may be happening soon. No I am
not trying to get you all excited, I did actually
build a single board computer and have looked into
building a 386 version. My problem is my
inexperience building single board computers and
properly programming them from boot. This ain't
no picnic. Anyway, if anyone has experience
building 8088 related boards I would love to
discuss it with you. I ran into some timing
problems and my $10 Heathkit second hand scope
just could not handle the frequencies well enough
to see what was going on. Hence the purchase of a
logic analyzer. Okay, this is my excuse, but I am
thinking about it. I would also like to hear from
anyone who is experienced designing accelerators
or understands the theory behind accelerators. I
have some ideas, but I have no idea if it will
actually work.
Thanks,
Frank
