A bit Lost on Null Modem Xfer's and .ZIP files !
Hi;
I got my SCSI card today and connected it up to my HD. I made a bunch
of ProDos partitions and one big HFS one.
I have a bunch of data on my PC that needs to go to the Apple. I
really quickly looked at the FAQ, saw the words null modem and figured
I had it beat as I have done this stuff before (by using HyperTerminal
to null modem into my UPS stuff etc.)
The thing is, I've now gone in and read the FAQ a little more and am
now confused. Questions;
Can't you just connect the PC & Apple together using a single serial
cable? From the FAW it looks like you need some sort of itermediary
device called a 'null modem' cable! I thought the serial cable was a
null modem connction?
Also, the PC has tons of zipped Apple files. Can these be unzipped on
the Apple (is there software for it?) or is it ness to unzip them
first before x-fer?
Thanks Again - I'm almost there.....Honest!
