Have you tried putting the card into another slot? (slot 5 and 7 would be good candidates to test).
Maybe the slot contacts aren't making a good connection with the card?If the drive spins up in another slot, you may need to adjust the contacts within the slot by gently pulling/bending them into the centre of the slot. This will hopefully allow the card to make a proper connection with the slot.
If that fails, try cleaning the card's gold fingers to remove any material which might be impeding the electrical contact - using a pencil eraser works well.
