Re: IIgs question.
I have an Apple IIGS (ROM Rev 3) that accesses via LocalTalk a file server
running on my PowerMac 6100 (running under Mac OS 8.6). It also recognizes
my laser printer.
Booting the IIGS from a floppy and accessing the file server works great,
although it takes a minute or two to boot up. I'm interested in getting
the IIGS to boot directly from the server.
I set the IIGS's slots 1 and 7 to AppleTalk and force the machine to boot
from slot 7. It takes time to search its LocalTalk network but doesn't
recognize the server.
To get the IIGS to boot from the server, do I only need to install
AppleShare on the Mac? If so, does anybody know where can I get it? Do
the newer versions still support the Apple II?
