No I don't think it should be obeyed to the letter...I just think
people should be honest about what they are doing.

I also remembered something else on the 10+ year old software debate.
Hasbro a while back acquired some old games, one of them being Asteroids.
They went around suing and getting cease and desist orders for anyone
distributing an Asteroids clone that they could find, whether it was
freeware, shareware or commercial.  This did include software that was
no longer be produced or updated.  So obviously there was some value
in that old software.  I do think they went much too far, but that's
corporate lawyers for you.  In fact, they sued Macsoft over a Mac 
clone of Asteroids, then turned around and gave Macsoft the license
to do the Mac port of their new Asteroids.
