The "PC Transporter" takes a regular 800K Apple 3.5 drive (NOT the Unidisk
3.5). The Apple 3.5 drive can read and write both GCR and MFM formats. I
don't believe you can use the 1.44M Apple 3.5 drive.
The "PC Transporter" can also use special 5.25" drives made by Applied
Engineering called "Transdrives" but I am unfamiliar with them.
The Apple 3.5 drive works flawlessly on 720K MS-DOS disks that have been
formatted on another MS-DOS machine. If you format the disks using the
Apple IIgs / PC Transporter some other MS-DOS machines have trouble reading
them (although I have found many where they work just fine).
