The AE RamKeeper is a card that acts to keep the content of the memory intact
even after the Apple IIgs is powered down, they do this with an external battery
that is hooked on to a charger.
The AE RamKeeper has a piggy-back that enables you to put 2x AE GSRam+ cards
with 2Mb expansion daughter board (GSRam+ is 6Mb fully populated) so that you get
a total of 16Mb RAM. However, you can only have 8Mb of RAM in use in the Finder,
so the other 8Mb is used as a ROM disk, you can think of this as a RAM disk.
The AE-RamKeeper, since with a piggy-back card is blocking Slot 7, also have
a small accessory called the "Slot-Mover", which essentially, gives you a bit of
space by having a paper-thin connectors connected to slot 7, and have the slot
away.
