Re: IIe Games That Don't Work on the IIgs

Ok I'm ready to present my findings.  I'm happy to report that the
success rate was rather high, and I'm confident that most of the non-
working programs can probably be fixed by finding and using a
different crack (some cracks worked while others failed).  There were
only one or two showstoppers for me that would make me hold onto my
IIe, but more on that later.

As I mentioned earlier, My setup is:

* ROM 3 IIGs
* Speed set to normal (IIe speed)
* 5.25 drive connected to the Smartport
* A 5.25 Disk II card (see step 3 below)

My current testing methodology is:

1. Attempt to boot the game
2. If the game boots play the game for a few moments to see if it
appears to work (no funny graphics glitches or other problems)
3. If the game fails to load I try it again with a 5.25 drive
connected to a real Disk II card
4. Enable alternate display mode and see if that fixes anything

I'll list the games by category (works, doesn't work, works with disk
II card, works with problems, etc.) and by whether or not they
original disks or copies.  So without further ado, here's the list:
