Opinions on Hardware setup disks?
I've recently been given a bunch of Apple II software and hardware, and with
this stuff are a lot of different setup/utility disks for specific
hardware -like the Swyftware disk for the Swyftcard, for example, or the
EPROM software for the Needham EPROM programmer. Considering how much
hardware is bought off of Ebay, with no setup software or manuals etc., and
how often I've aquired a new piece of hardware that I couldn't use because I
didn't have the proper software, I was wondering if a site devoted to Apple
II hardware (software) might be a good thing to have -well, obviously it
would be useful but would it be considered piracy if these disks were made
available for download?
I'm not talking about a site that just includes setup disks but a site that
is for setup disks only, or maybe versions of DOS/ProDos, ADT, compression
utils for working with the disk images, as well as the hardware software. In
other words, a place that people can go if they get an A2 or piece of
hardware that has no setup disk.
Please don't bash me. It's just an idea, and the purpose is for help. Is
this something that people would get behind if an FTP place was available
for use?
