Opinions wanted on Applied Engineering RAM Cards

Hi folks;

I'll shortly have a //gs that will need some more memory so I'm
researching which card to get. The one name that seems to come up a
lot is Applied Engineering.

I'd like to max the system out with memory (8 megs I believe) Alltech
sells a 8 meg card for around 100.00

What's the best Applied Engineering Card with same memory capacity (8
megs) and is it any better than just a straight RAM card like the one
Alltech sells? IE: Does it do more or can I make it do more?
