I'm sorry that I can't answer without checking your question below, though I'm sure you will get
one. What I can tell you is that no 8 bit Apple II ran at any faster speed than 1 mhz without a
special accelerator except for the //c+, which ran at 4 mhz. The Apple /// however, did run at
close to 2 mhz, though I must confess, I don't see a lot faster screen display, so it is likely
that it's speed was used to make up for other things.

My //c+, and my Transwarped //e do have a lot faster screen response time. Some games are too
fast (though, it seems to me that One-On-One works much better at the faster speed, the
"players" move smoothly on the screen), but Apple Access II is still a turtle when it comes to
using the II on the Internet.
