A REALLY simple question for all you boffins

I'm not sure if I'm in the right group for this question...
you all seem so knowledgeable around here...
but does anyone know the answer to my 'dumb blonde' question?

I'm making a movie on a DV iMac and I'm searching for a stop clock to time
out frames and stuff.

Is there a stop clock built into the dv special or did 'APPLE' leave it out?

It's essential to work out timing with a stop clock

  and it seems like  a simple bit of software

so does anyone know where it is???? if it exists or...er..does any one know
what I'm on about?
