Nicely put. Personally, I think the reason some react so strongly to
someone pointing that a certain activity is illegal and morally
questionable is because they already know it, and don't want to be
reminded of it. They would much rather have everyone tell them that it's
a good thing to do, it helps the developers (yeah right) and only
someone who is somehow less than they are (vogon) would complain. If
anyone thinks that these posts will rid the earth of software piracy,
well, I wonder what they have been sniffing. And if someone thinks that
by insulting advocates of respect for software authors we will go away,
well, they are just as deluded.
The flame wars don't have to continue, the dispute can be done quietly
and respectfully, some seem to enjoy flames though.
