Another newbie question here. I need to install some form of Shrinkit on
a IIGS. I have sucessfully downloaded System disks and Disk Copy on a
Windows based PC, transferred them to my Macintosh Classic, and created
the boot disks for the GS. These I believe were all Mac archived images.
Most other downloadable software is in Shrinkit format, which is a bit
of a problem at this point as I am trying to download it also.
I have found the file SHRINK.EXE, which I believe looks like was put
together for these first time installs.I tried to execute it on the GS,
but all I get is a PROGRAM TOO LARGE error from the Applesoft prompt.
This program is 71K. I have tried running it with the Basic in both
System 6.01 and System 3.2 with similiar results. When I catalog the
disk with SHRINK.EXE its file type is BIN.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Is there any way to check available
memory, make more available when running in Basic on these machines? I
know on my TRS-80's you would type PRINTMEM to read this value . My GS
has 1280K of Ram, ROM 01. Floppy drive only system.
