The Apple Desktop Bus was a great idea, and a clear predecessor in concept
to USB.  It was the first easy-to-use, daisy-chainable method for using the
same port to connect a wide variety of devices to a computer.  ADB devices
range from keyboards and mice to joysticks, drawing tablets, and even modems
(there weren't many of those, but one or two).
