Anyone know where I can find an SSI263 chip? It's a speech chip that
was used in the early to mid 80's for text-to-speech applications in
computers. Searching around, I've found out that this chip was used in
certain versions of the Mockingboard. So if someone has a broken
Mockingboard with the chip intact, I'd be interested in getting it.
I found a kit among my collection that demonstrates how text to speech
works, but it needs the chip to run. The kit is a Micromint Sweettalker
II card... And the documentation is superb for those who want to learn
about Apple II peripheral construction and programming.
Thanks!
