Jay, I'm going to take a guess here and suggest term power is the reason the
Apple HS SCSI card isn't recognizing those drives. I don't mean termination,
term power is a different thing. Either the drive or the SCSI card must supply
term power for the drive to be recognized. I believe there's something on
modifying Apple SCSI cards to provide term power in the FAQ. Alternately
there are a few terminators that do supply term power, most notably the
diagnostic terminators. The Ramfast supplies term power so most drives show
up.
I've tried over a hundred different drives with different Apple HS SCSI cards
over the years ranging in size from 20mb to 4gb and only had 2 that the cards
wouldn't recognize if the drive received both termination and term power.
