Perfect, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.

As for multitasking, Linux does just fine and it's primarily software
based. In fact, it's the only decent 32 bit multitasking OS on the PC
for personal use. At least the only one the common user can afford. Plus
it's reasonably easy to port as long as their is a good C compiler.
