Oops, guess that should have been MsDos. I remember a few systems
which had no trouble reading disks formatted that way, but many of
them did need the driver, at least for the more obscure formats. The
MS disks I have seen were part of a set. The first disk was standard
and the setup program carried the routines needed to read the others.
Generally they were 1.8 megs, IIRC. If you look at Win95 and and maybe
98, the cab files are the actual disk images.

Back when I did repair work, I used these formats to keep people from
fooling with my repair disks. I had things the way I wanted them and I
didn't need someone else messing with them.
