These text based //s, like MS-DOS machines, also had GUIs that rode on top of
their operating systems. Not too much unlike Linuix with X on top of it.

Strange, when I see TV images from Wall Street, I still see lots of text based
machines. The fact is that command line  is superior than GUI for some things,
just as GUI is superior to command line for others. Frankly, I prefer a computer
that allows me the flexibility to use whichever interface that I am more
comfortable using for what ever work I have to do.

A new // could have an expanded ProDOS (like a full SOS) with a GUI layered on
it - not unlike the GUI form of Catalyst. And, if the new // used a fast 65816
(like 20 mhz or so) perhaps a Unix like operating system could be created or
ported.
