Re: Beagle Bros
I am not sure of the story of the two characters in the logo. I believe I may
have heard it was original art. However, I was told the story of the "Bros" at
a HAAUG meeting in about 1990 where Randy Brandt was our guest. Randy said
that Bert Kersey wanted to call the company "Beagle Boys," but was afraid of a
problem with Disney, who published Donald Duck comic books using the Beagle
Boys characters. Bert already had the logo, so he needed a name which fit in
the space. Thus it became "Bros" and is not "Brothers." When you called there
in the 1990's (when Beagle was owned by Mark Simonsen), they answered the
telephone "Beagle Bros" (- with Bros pronounced "Broze" with a long O). The
Beagle, of course, comes from Bert's beagle, Sophie.
