Hi, y'all!

Seeing the topic "Adapter card storage" makes me think it's time
to bring order out of the chaos that exists here. I started assigning
ID numbers to the IIs I have. The ID consists of a letter and a two
digit number. I started with 'P', for the Platinum IIe, but that
scheme fell apart when I found a couple II+ models. How about 'A' for
Apple I (not that I'll ever have one), 'B' for Apple II, 'C' for Apple
II+, 'D' for unenhanced IIe, 'E' for enhanced IIe, 'F' for platinum
IIe, 'G for IIc', 'H' for IIc+, 'J' for ROM 0 IIgs, 'K' for ROM 1 IIgs
and 'L' for ROM3 IIgs. Hmmm, if I use separate letters for all the
ROM versions of the IIgs, shouldn't I use separate letters for the
various ROM versions of the IIc? Comments, PLEASE...

Depending on which database program you are using you could always assign a numeric value for each type of machine. From there you could use it as a common key to access the description from one file and the details from a different file.
