No, but the GS has an AIM clone program available.

Not currently but there may be someone working in this area as it
has been mentioned before. There is a GS browser under development.

Again, I think the GS can handle this. There was a recent release
but I don't recall if it handled newsgroups.

There are 8 bit programs which may handle this. I think one reader
here uses ProTerm, IIRC.

Yes, you can connect an external 56k modem, but you will only get
19.2k max on 8 bit systems. There is a patch for the GS which may
let it transfer through the serial port at 56k speeds. This might
allow 33.6 or better connections.

Not yet, there is at least on group who is working on this. I have
heard mention of another person, but I have no details on whether
this is a true project or just a dream.

It should be possible to hook the GS to a network once the card is
made. There is software which I think may have the ability for this,
maybe Marinetti, but I've forgotten the name right now.
