Besides the fixes suggested by Matt, try unplugging and replugging the
IC's nearest the front of the motherboard. Also unplug-replug the cable from
the keyboard. (The idea of unplugging-replugging is to establish good
contacts for pins which may have lost connection due to accumulated gunk and
corrosion.)
You might also try this: Turn ON the display monitor first. Let it warm
up and, then, turn ON the computer. If the screen begins blank and fills up
with H's line-by-line, you may have a stuck Repeat key. (Or, if the keyboard
has been replaced with one featuring auto-repeat keys, you may have a stuck
"H".)
