I was laughing at *you* Bob. You've got a serious case of tunnel vision. As
far as QC being the cause, did you not notice that David didn't blame you,
or me, or QC, but just that there wasn't anything worth reading? The two
most frequent posters, my impression here, were you and Paul with your
antiQC crusade. QC has been fairly quiet, as has Tom. QC hasn't even posted
about the Einstein Compiler, did you notice that? If you and Paul would stop
responding to QC, he'd stop responding to you. And there would be far fewer
posts around here, and the percentage of posts worth reading would go up,
while the asbestos coated ones would go down.

That was my fault. In no way did I think David was a pirate, nor do I think
that his leaving is progress in the anti-piracy battle. What I meant was
that perhaps there is progress, but I doubt that QC would think that David's
leaving was part of it. I shouldn't have been so cryptic.

I do not think that QC is the cause, nor do I think it is all your fault.
The cause of all the noise is the issue of respect for copyright holders,
and that existed long before QC or I showed up around here. So long as there
is a difference on that issue there will be the unending posts about it.
QC's posts are part of that, but the noise level has risen as you and Paul,
and a few others, have made him a second issue. And the percentage of
valuable posts continues to fall.

I have Bob, which is why I have made far fewer posts myself recently, and
have tried to tone down my responses (not always successfully.) I have
stated publicly that I didn't like the language that QC had used, I also
don't like the language I've seen in some who have attacked him BTW. But I
have also said that I do enjoy his wit and how, inside a standard framework,
he has a great deal of variety. He has good grammar and vocabulary, I love
his alliteration and some of his putdowns are strokes of genus. Sadly,
others are still a bit too close to potty humor for me to appreciate them,
but he isn't writing for my amusement. You see Bob, I can admire things in
people I disagree with or don't like. And I can disapprove of things in
people I agree with or care for. I've never met anyone who is totally good
or evil. [Even Hitler had a few good qualities: he liked dogs and children,
he didn't use foul language, but in light of his monstrosities, those do
sorta pale in comparisons. He also was a vegetarian and hated tobacco:
possibly the source of all his evil actions? Would he have been a less evil
man if he enjoyed a good cigar after a great steak? Who can tell... but I
digress.] I've even seen contributions that you have made, not all of your
posts are worthless.

You're right, it is a shame. A shame that there is no respect for those who
gave us the great software that we use or wish to use, and that those who
call for such respect are constantly trashed here, and then comes QC to
trash back, and he is blamed for the mess, a mess that would never happen if
people gave half the effort to getting software made PD or freeware that
they give to encouraging piracy. Flee the dark side Bob, return to the
light.
