Apple IIc Plus Internal Modem?

The IIc Plus is the model I've shied away from (I've had every other
model and several versions of each. The IIc Plus seems unnecessary when
the IIgs can do the 3.5" thing better), but a guy was selling a crate
of Apple II stuff for $5 -- including the IIc Plus -- and I couldn't
resist.

A question I couldn't find answer to on deja.com:

I see there's an internal modem jack. I don't recall my IIc having one.
Was an internal modem ever created?

I'm hoping this is the 256k model. I haven't hooked it to a monitor
yet ...
