Went through something like that last week with a vacuum cleaner a sister
brought over to fix.

The usual problem with opening nice looking brand name cases is that the
means of opening is concealed from view. One popular trick is to hide screws
and bolts under stick-on/pop-off rubber feets on the bottom of the case.
Another is to hide a critical screw under a pop-out logo plate.

Some cases hide screws/bolts under those metallic labels with model, etc.
info. (Run a finger nail over the label looking for indents that may indicate a
screw hole.) Sometimes, you can peel off the label; other times, you will need
to poke through the label with a knife of screwdriver.

Not all cases depend upon screws. Some (like the IIgs case) have tabs or
ridges you need to press. One trick a lot of modern cases use is to have slots
into which you must insert a screwdriver or other tool to push back some
springy tab.

Naturally, there is no substitute for knowing how 'the pros do it'. If you
find an entry point, there may still be a need to wiggle something, pull a
certain way, etc.. Even so, after inventing a few new curse words, you can
almost always get the dumb thing open.
