Before my retiring in 1987 as a senior scientist (and one who cannot read
a computer monitor) from UC-Berkeley's Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, I was
fortunate to have a great secretary and group of graduate students who ran
my computers for me. 
 
It was important as I joined a large Southern Oregon retirement community
that I assemble a computer system which I could efficiently use to
continue my research on my own. 
 
I was so satisfied with what I could personally do with this computer
system that I was inspired to develop a program for students and for
fellow retirees with age-related vision problems. 
 
Recently with the help of a local high school senior I have set up a web
site that describes our program in detail and how we assembled our
computer systems. The address is:
