I do have an 80 column card installed and ProDOS runs fine on my II. I
could easily drop Applesoft ROMs into it but that would effectively turn
it into a II+. I already have a II+ set up with a hard drive, 3.5" floppy drive,
accelerator, 1mb RamFactor etc etc. This is one of those projects and also
a learning experience for me. With later machines I really never did much
of anything in the monitor, now with the II every time I startup or hit the
reset button I'm in the monitor.
I appreciate your offer to try translating an applesoft program over to integer.
However unless I wrong I likely wouldn't be able to use it. I believe to use
applesoft programs from a ProDOS volumn you need Basic.system and
unfortunately there's no integer basic equivalent of this so therefore I'll only
be able to boot Sys programs off the hard drive.
I've received a few suggestions for Program launchers so I'll check those out
and hopefully one'll be a go. Unfortunately I'm not getting a lot done this
weekend due to having been burglarized Friday. It appears they were planning
on taking one of my IIgs as they had one by the door. I assume they had all
they could carry in VCRs and tapes and decided ti forgo the IIgs.
