Archiving software you own is protected by the copyright 
statutes.

Helping newbies does not require you to be a pirate.

Making available all the old software you have permission to 
distribute is legal and moral as well.

So your point seems to be reduced to the desire to distribute 
software you don't own.  That's stealing.  And that's why 
I'll jump on your case.  Now tell us why we must steal to 
save the Apple II.  Perhaps you can convince me.

They are doing more than preserving, Pule.  They are 
distributing.  Dorktor Tom can have CDROMS of Asimov stashed 
under his crack pipe collection, and I'd have no problem with 
that. (well, a little one, but thieves will be thieves).

It's when he distributes it while cackling "It's OK!  It's 
Legal!".  It's a lie.
