In addition, it's over a certain amount of 'funds'. The FBI doesn't
get involved in any cases until a magic figure has been surpassed. I
believe it's $25k+.

Was that the 'change' that indicated that the cost of goods stole
would be made a retail price? I recall an article describing the
change of the formula to determine the cost of the stolen goods would
be greatly liberalized. Boosting it well over 4x the older formula.

These were the big boys they were talking about though. The
mom-and-pop outfits that sold the goods. We had an outfit here in San
Antonio that we busted for selling computer systems as-is. Fortunately
for the buyer, someone had pre-installed Win98. Gee, lucky, eh? But no
documents or certifcation cards?
