Possibly, but that would have been a LONG time ago when I was still in
Japan.  I've been around the traps awhile.

No. The next message outlines the next step I'd try in this situation so I
won't repeat.  I'll just add that on my three monitors (only one of which
is still working) the screen (brightness) control is the lower one with
the focus above it.
