Ok Jon, on one level I don't care what a technology was created for, but
rather what it can do. On that level, Tom's http site performs some of the
functions of an ftp site, and that is all that really matters, not the
straining at a gnat of http vs ftp.

But on another level, since I do have some curiosity, would you care to
explain please what http was created to do, and does do, and ditto for ftp,
and how or when can they overlap?

So, if you are using a browser then, it really doesn't matter, does it, if the
site is http, or ftp? And if that is true, I still come back to my question,
why did Tom go postal over my use of the term that a number before me had
used? Of course, I can't expect you to answer that one. :-)

Thanks.
