IIGS help pleasee!

Three years ago I gave up my GS for a Mac, it went to one of my sisters.
A week or so ago it moved to a second sister.

It worked fine for a week, now there is a problem. Even though I been
into Apples for many years, I'm not very technical. After all it's an
Apple, you plug it in,  turn it on and it works!

This GS has a System Saver GS and a Q Drive. A few days ago she turned
it on and got the screen saying CHECK STARTUP DEVICE. As I remember the
only time I got this screen was when I forgot to turn the Q Drive on
before I turned the GS on. The fix was to turn the GS off, turn the Q
Drive on and then the GS. This would take care of the problem! But not
this time! The drive starts and seems to come up to speed, I've checked
all the connections, they seem to be ok. In it's travels the Q Drive
book has disappeared, so I can't look it up.

Any ideas?
