My new ISP - FoxValley.net - offers the best of both worlds: a dial up
Shell account, which also includes PPP access, for about $15 or $16 per
month. Even though it's a small operation, they do have local dial ups
all over the country.
I've been with them for several months, and over-all have been quite
pleased. Early on, I asked a tech support question about using the older
version of tin that was installed on the system, and rather than just
answer the question, they went ahead and updated tin to the latest
version. In my book, that's incredible customer service/support.
I'd recommend FoxValley.net to any Apple II user, with no hesitation.
They have a site at http://www.foxvalley.net with details.
