Sandy,

On the Our Forums portion of the page, press one of the radio buttons
next to the forum you want to read from.  For example, "General
discussion for appleiigs"

Then move down and press the "Read" button.

It should go to a new page with a list of the messages and threads
available in that forum.  Click on one of the names to read...

You can post or read if you've signed up.

As far as the email notification goes.. Deja moved their servers and they
haven't got all the features working yet.  In fact, there is more broke
with Deja than works, IMHO.. B-{)
