    The problem I've reported is NOT due to anything you've
mentioned.  The 520c, before AND after choking on this one floppy, has
no trouble accessing ANY of the MANY 3.5 inch ProDOS floppies I have.
There is SOMETHING about the apparently valid ProDOS floppy that
causes the Mac O/S to crash.  It is NOT due to a bad block because, in
the process of using "ShrinkIt" to create a compressed image of the
floppy, "ShrinkIt' had to read EVERY sector.  It did so without
reporting an I/O error.  The image file can be sent to anyone who
would care to examine it.

    As I review the content of this message before inflicting it on
the group, it occurs to me that I need to turn the image file into a
real floppy to see if the 520c chokes on the copy.
