Well, the drive is designed for IIgs/Mac, but it will work on a IIc+
also. To make it
work on the IIe you need the later 3.5" controller card, sometimes
called the SuperDrive
Controller card. They're easy to spot: they're much bigger than the old
one, have a 65c02
processor on the board, an LED, and don't have LIRON printed on the
back.
The card you have, is designed to run a UniDisk 3.5" drive, which are
harder to find than
AppleDisk 3.5"'s (Although interestingly went I first went looking I
found 2 UniDisks and
no AppleDisks), and are stark white in colour like the original IIc.
Also, the eject button
is much thinner and located about the manual eject hole, rather than
like the AppleDisk where
there's a fatter eject button with the manual eject hole in the middle
of it.
Hope you find one; 3.5" drives make IIe's much more fun.
