at the basic prompt, type PR#3

or from a basic program with Dos loaded (I think 3.3 or Prodos will
behave the same way):

10 print chr$(4);"PR#3"

or without dos loaded:

10 PR#3

this tells the computer "all output goes to slot 3".  The 80 column
cards are designed to trap output to slot 3.

There are several other commands for the 80 column screen, I think esc-
control-q exits from 80 columns.

I have the manual for the card if you are interested.  It'd be just a
little over the shipping cost.
