Booting problem with Altech Harddrive on IIGS !

Hi!

I'm trying to boot the IIGS from a preinstalled Alltech  340MB hardisk,
mounted in slot#7 with System 6.0.1

The following error msg. occurs midway during boot process:

"Sorry, system error $0201 occured while loading the system -setup file,
EasyMount."

--> Earlier response on this group indicated memory shortage.  I have now
upgraded the original memory exp. board from 768 kb up to 7.2  MB GS
Ramboard in order to resolve the situation.

However, after installing the mem.board and  the system  now hangs during
the initial welcome screen (not GS/OS boot screen).  The harddisk sounds
like it is not able to start-up properly.

I've looked at the settings in Control Panel, and on available RAM-disk all
7.5 MB shows-up as available.  I've also disabled scan-mode and pointed
directly to slot#7 for the drive.

The computer runs as normal in 8-bit mode booting from regular disks!

Anyone have any ideas on how to progress on this one!
