Wow, thanks for the advanced lessons. I knew about some of the restrictions that
you mentioned, what I didn't know was that after bank 1 memory was addressable in
a linear fashion.  And yes, :) it was a bit pedantic to point out that 8 bit
machine only see memory one byte at a time, but it does show also that 16 bit CPUs
only see 16 bits at a time, and so on. The "big guys", to a great extent, do what
they do only because of far greater clock speed and bus width. And far too often,
software is so badly coded that it needs hardware advances to be useful. Case in
point, compare GEOS for the PC to Windows 3.x or higher. Or, for that matter, who
would have thought you could have a full blown GUI on a 8 bit machine until
Berkeley release GEOS for the C-64 and Apple II (even if it did have one of the
ugliest interfaces known to man.)  :)
