The info is in the newsgroup FAQs at ...

http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2KBPADJS.html#004 .

PC joysticks can be adapted without much trouble to work very nicely on an
Apple II. This makes getting a new PC stick and using an adaptor quite a bit
more attractive than taking a chance on buying a used A2 stick. (There are a
few exceptions. The A2 versions of the CH Products "FlightStick" and "Mach III"
are very good sticks which seem to hold up well.)

Some PC sticks have auto-fire circuitry-- i.e. you hold down the Fire
button and get multiple rapid shots. This option will probably need to be
switched off to work with the adaptor described in the FAQs. (There is an
additional mod which allows utilizing the auto-fire feature. I have not come
across any A2 games where auto-fire would make a big difference; so, the added
circuitry is not included in the adaptor info.)
